International R&D Collaboration with NEDO Japan

Summary:

The Israel Innovation Authority and NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization – Japan’s national R&D and funding agency) invite Israeli and Japanese companies to submit joint proposals for industrial research and development projects.

As part of the Eureka Globalstars initiative, NEDO has launched an international call for proposals with 15 participating countries, leveraging the Eureka platform to facilitate collaboration and access to international partners.

 

Program Description

The programs are operating under the Israel Innovation Authority’s R&D Fund Incentive Program.  

Israeli Companies who wish to collaborate with the following foreign partners

  1. Asia: 
    • Japan in all areas of technology, except nuclear energy and drug discovery 
  2. Eureka:
    • A European program for promoting industrial technological cooperation, supported by both public and private funding, which enables access to industrial R&D funding through national R&D programs in 43 European countries, including Israel.

 

Criteria

The Criteria for evaluation are detailed in the Israel Innovation Authority’s International Rules & Regulations, and the R&D Fund Incentive program.  

 

Precondition

The Preconditions are detailed in the Israel Innovation Authority’s International Rules & Regulations and in this R&D Fund Incentive program. 

 

Application Process

  • Applicants are required to follow all local submission requirements and use the official application format and instructions.
  • Applications that are not submitted in the approved format will not be accepted.
  • Applicants must complete and submit the Eureka Application Form through the Eureka website, as part of the official international submission process.

In addition, the same Eureka Application Form must be submitted to the Israel Innovation Authority, together with the required local documents, replacing the International Cooperation Form, and including a Letter of Intent.

Israeli companies must submit their applications to the Israel Innovation Authority, while their foreign partners must submit corresponding applications to their respective funding authorities.

Applications that are not submitted to both sides will not be eligible for approval.

Final results will be provided following the decisions of the respective evaluation committees in both countries (if applicable).
